Malayalam actor Mathew Thomas made his Tamil film debut with Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. He played the son of Vijay and Trisha in the action film. In a recent promotional interview for his latest Malayalam movie, Nellikkampoyil Night Riders, Mathew spoke about his interactions with Trisha and Vijay on the sets of Leo.

The actor said, “When I first met Trisha ma’am on the set of Leo, she told me she wasn’t keen on having a son my age in the movie.”

Sharing his witty response to Trisha’s honest concern, Mathew added, “I don’t like playing a son either. I actually thought this was a stepson role!”

Leo marked the first time Trisha has portrayed a mother to a late teenager.

Mathew Thomas also shared a behind-the-scenes anecdote about a moment when he had to throw a javelin at Vijay during a scene in Leo. “I learned Javelin for that movie. I was worried that if I threw the javelin at Vijay sir won’t that be a problem. But Vijay’s character itself had asked me to throw the javelin irrespective of who gets in through the door in that scene. In the scene, Vijay sir asks me jokingly, ‘Didn’t you throw the javelin knowing that it was me?’ I think most audiences missed that bit.”
