IPL Match Summary (LSG vs KKR)
Rinku Singh was the man of the moment for KKR as he slammed 4 sixes in the last over of Kolkata’s innings, rescuing them from a batting collapse and helping them post a decent 158/7 with he himself scoring 83. Mohsin Khan starred for LSG with the ball with 5 wickets.
It would still prove short, however, with KKR bowlers proving to be the big difference as they almost stifled out LSG but ultimately Kartik Tyagi failed to defend 17 off the last over as the match was tied and went to a Super Over. In the Super Over, Sunil Narine gave away just 1 run, taking out both Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram with Rinku finishing the match with a four off the first ball.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings batters disappointed again with the home team down to 37/4 at one point against the Gujarat Titans. They were only saved by skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad’s coming back to form with a gritty 74 runs which enabled them to post 158/7. Kagiso Rabada took 3 wickets as he broke the back of the CSK batting attack.
CSK’s score proved to be insufficient as Sai Sudharsan with 87 and support from Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler enabled GT to reach 162/2 in just 16.4 overs.
