Elon Musk’s X outage: Twitter down for thousands globally, including India

Elon Musk’s social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) is currently experiencing a widespread technical outage affecting thousands of users globally, including the US and India. According to the website performance tracker Downdetector.com, reports of the downtime began around 7.10 PM on Monday (February 16). Downdetector recorded over 41,331 incidents of reported issues globally, including approximately 1,600 reports from users in India. Both mobile and desktop versions were affected, according to outage‑tracking site Downdetector.

Reports surged across regions including the US, UK, India, and Europe, with Downdetector logging more than 40,000 complaints at peak. Users reported blank timelines, error messages such as “Something went wrong,” and inability to post updates.The company has not yet released an official statement on the cause of the downtime.
