‘Tere Ishk Mein’ box office performance

Despite the mid-week slump, ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ has seen impressive hold in India following its strong opening. Key metropolitan circuits like Mumbai, Delhi–NCR and Bengaluru, continue to deliver steady weekday footfalls, while mass centres are also performing consistently. The film began its run with an estimated Rs 16 crore on Friday, followed by a strong weekend that included Rs 17 crore on Saturday and its highest day of Rs 19 crore on Sunday. Monday saw the expected drop of over 50%, bringing in around Rs 8.75 crore, before the film rebounded to Rs 10.25 crore on Tuesday. With Wednesday’s figures, the film’s net collection in India stands at approximately Rs 76.75 crore, while its gross domestic total has touched an estimated Rs 92.5 crore.

Film hits 100 crore mark

Overseas earnings of about Rs 8 crore have pushed Tere Ishk Mein past the Rs 100 crore worldwide gross milestone within its first week.

Dhanush’s highest-earning Hindi film

With around Rs 92.50 crore gross in domestic markets in just six days, ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ has emerged as Dhanush’s biggest Bollywood hit to date. It also marks his first Rs 100 crore worldwide Bollywood grosser, and the seventh for co-star Kriti Sanon. The film’s youthful narrative, coupled with its popular soundtrack, has helped sustain momentum in the domestic market. Overseas performance has been modest, but steady enough to bolster the film’s global tally.Dhanush on taking up role in ‘Tere Ishk Mein’Talking about his new character, Dhanush said that Shankar is easier for audiences to like but “he has his very own challenges, which I cannot say much about now. Once you watch the film, you will know he must have gone through these challenges to play this part.”The actor said he likes those roles that push him creatively saying, “When an actor reads the script and sees these kinds of challenges, he jumps on it. ‘Yes, this is what I have been waiting for.’ I can do something. I do not have to learn the lines, go in front of the camera, say the lines and come back. I have to work on it.”The actor added, “It is nothing to do with aggression or anything. It is just a good part with a lot of challenge.”

‘Dhurandhar’ clash on Friday

However, with the release of ‘Dhurandhar’ this week, industry watchers are keen to see how the new competition affects Tere Ishk Mein’s box office trajectory going forward.

Upcoming ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ release

Both ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ and ‘Dhurandhar’ will have and aditional week to rake in the big bucks before James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ blazes up the Indian box office this December. With the hype around the film, coupled with great reviews and a strong fandom, the film is touted to have one of the biggest openings for a Hollywood release in India on December 19.
