Bob Marley was born Robert Nesta Marley on February 6, 1945, in Nine Miles, Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica. He later moved to Kingston and spent part of his youth in Trench Town.Marley left school when he was 14 and briefly worked as a welder’s apprentice. Music remained his bigger interest, however, and he soon began pursuing it seriously.He started recording music in the early 1960s. He formed The Wailers with Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh.

The Wailers first established themselves in Jamaica. Soon they became a rage overseas.
