Quote of the day by Amanda Seyfried: ‘You don’t have to listen to those mean girls…you know, inside, they feel bad about themselves too. But they don’t want to admit it to anybody, the ‘Mamma Mia!’ star’s words about dealing with harsh comments and hate

Amanda Seyfried, from her fame in ‘Mamma Mia!’ and ‘Mean Girls’ to landing roles like ‘Jennifer’s Body,’ has worked in the entertainment industry for more than 25 years now. With around 80 acting credits to her name, she is a force to be reckoned with. Today’s quote from her is all about understanding how important it is to not let words of hate get to you.The quote of the day from the ‘Mamma Mia!’ actress reads, “You don’t have to listen to those mean girls. They’re just there to make you upset and make you feel bad about yourself. And you know, inside, they feel bad about themselves too. But they don’t want to admit it to anybody.”

What does the quote mean?

Seyfried shared these words of wisdom during Comic-Con in 2011 in San Diego when she was promoting her film, ‘In Time.’Seyfried highlights that aggressive or cruel behavior often comes from a place of personal insecurity. People who lash out, insult, or exclude others are frequently projecting their own issues and dissatisfaction onto other people. She shared that people like this often target others because of their own issues.

Amanda Seyfried’s quote of the day is all about understanding that the only way bullies have power over you is if you let their words have meaning. The moment that you stop caring about the hate that you get, you take away the meaning behind their words. (Instagram)

The line “They don’t want to admit it to anybody” addresses why social aggression continues. Admitting feeling bad about oneself requires vulnerability, which can feel risky in everyday life. Instead of dealing with their insecurities constructively, individuals often adopt a tough or mean persona as a defense mechanism to hide their fears.Seyfried talks about taking away the power that such cruel remarks hold. Recognizing that the insults are about the bully’s internal issues rather than you makes it a lot easier to ignore the hostility and maintain self-confidence. Seyfried’s career is a testament to this quote, as she has lived her life under constant pressure and public scrutiny. However, pushing past everything, the actress still managed to persevere, and now she focuses on her own life rather than what haters have to say about her and spends some peaceful time on her farm away from the hustle and bustle of Hollywood.
