Punjab: Woman dies of heart attack moments before breaking fast on Karva Chauth; last dance caught on video

BATHINDHA: A 55-year-old woman in Punjab’s Barnala district died suddenly while dancing during Karva Chauth celebrations on Sunday evening. The incident took place in Tapa town, where Asha Rani, who had been fasting for her husband’s long life, collapsed on the dance floor just before the moon was sighted.According to relatives, she and other women from the neighbourhood had gathered to celebrate the occasion by dancing to Punjabi songs played on a DJ system. Visuals from the event show Asha Rani, dressed in a yellow saree, dancing moments before she fell to the ground.Witnesses said the group had been dancing to the song “Enjoy yourself, we don’t know what may happen tomorrow morning” when the incident occurred.
