Addressing the gathering during the ceremony, the MLA said said the projects include the phirni (village peripheral road) of village Balyali, the phirni of village Ballo Majra, which is also being developed as an approach road from the main road to the Gurdwara Sahib, and roads in villages Raipur (on the Kharar–Chandigarh road) and Tadauli. These works are being undertaken at an estimated cost of around Rs 1.25 crore and will be completed within six months, he said.

Kulwant Singh also said that the development works in the Mohali Assembly constituency will continue at the same pace in the coming days. He informed that out of the total 60 villages in the constituency, construction work on nearly 30 roads has already begun.

The MLA said that a road in Balongi, which had remained incomplete for the past 20 years, was constructed immediately after the formation of the government. “We are committed to addressing long-pending issues and ensuring basic infrastructure reaches every village,” he said.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, Kulwant Singh announced that a health insurance scheme providing coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh has been launched keeping in mind the health needs of Punjab’s residents. “Under this scheme, beneficiary cards will be issued free of cost and treatment up to Rs 10 lakh will be completely free,” he added.

He further stated that from April onwards, women in Punjab will start receiving Rs 1,100 per month directly into their bank accounts. Addressing traffic concerns in Balongi, Kulwant Singh said another bridge will be constructed soon to ease congestion and ensure smooth movement for commuters.

Senior PWD officials and local representatives, including Ranjit Singh (Executive Engineer, PWD), Bharat (SDO, PWD), sarpanches, block presidents and several village leaders, were present on the occasion.
