Three Indians injured after drone strike sparks fire at Fujairah oil zone in UAE

NEW DELHI: Three Indian nationals were injured on Monday after a fire broke out at the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone (FOIZ) in the United Arab Emirates following a drone strike originating from Iran.Authorities in Fujairah confirmed that the blaze was triggered by the attack, with the state-run WAM news agency stating that emergency teams were immediately deployed.Civil Defence personnel are continuing efforts to bring the fire under control, as per news agency PTI.According to Khaleej Times, the three injured Indian nationals sustained moderate injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment. The Indian Embassy in the UAE said it is closely monitoring the situation. “Three Indian nationals have been injured in today’s attacks in Fujairah. We are in touch with local authorities for ensuring adequate medical care and welfare of the affected Indian nationals,” the embassy said in a post on X.Meanwhile, the UAE’s ministry of defence said Iran launched four missiles toward different parts of the country. “Three were successfully engaged over the country’s territorial waters, while one fell into the sea,” the ministry said.Authorities have urged residents to follow safety advisories and avoid spreading unverified information. Officials called on the public to rely only on official sources for updates. The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions, with attacks and countermeasures raising concerns over the security of critical energy infrastructure in the Gulf.
