Maruti Suzuki on Tuesday (December 2, 2025) announced the setting up of more than 2,000 exclusive charging points for its electric vehicles (EVs) across the country ahead of the launch of its first EV car, e Vitara.

The e Vitara, which was first unveiled during Bharat Mobility in January 2025 and is yet to be officially launched, will open for sales in 2026 and the bookings will start soon. The automaker promises a certified range of up to 543 km for the e Vitara. Maruti said the e Vitara received 5- Star rating under the government’s anti crash Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP).

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said that the automaker has spent ₹250 crore to develop a network of charging points across 1,100 cities nationwide which includes the top 100 cities with high EV penetration.

Maruti has also partnered with 13 leading Charge Point Operators and aggregators to provide access to charging infrastructure across the country.

Car owners can also use the ‘e for me’ app to locate the availability of charging infrastructure and to make payments for using them.

Over 1,500 EV-ready workshops to provide service support have also been readied, in addition to service on wheels programme for which 500 more workshops have been set up.
