Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was taken to a hospital in Jerusalem on Monday evening, with his office confirming that he is undergoing dental treatment.

In a statement released after reports in local media, the Prime Minister’s Office said Netanyahu had been admitted to Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center for an unspecified dental procedure.

“The Prime Minister is receiving dental treatment,” the statement said, without giving further details.
The clarification came after local media reported that the 76-year-old leader had been taken to hospital, prompting questions about his condition.

Health under public focus

Netanyahu’s health has drawn attention in recent months following a series of disclosures and questions over the timing of medical updates. Reports in Israel said there has been criticism over the withholding of information, leading to speculation about his overall condition.

Last month, Netanyahu said in a social media post that he had undergone radiation therapy for a malignant tumour in his prostate. He said he did not make the information public earlier as Iran could have used it to “spread propaganda” during the conflict.

He did not provide details on when he was diagnosed, when treatment began, or when it ended.

Past medical procedures

The prime minister has undergone several medical procedures in recent years. He had a pacemaker implanted in July 2023, following what was initially described as monitoring for dehydration. Later, doctors said irregularities had been detected in an electrocardiogram test, though they maintained that his heart was “completely normal”.

He also underwent hernia surgery in March 2024 and prostate surgery in December 2024.
Netanyahu’s office had also released an annual health report along with a note on his cancer treatment.

However, reports said the documents contained limited details and did not indicate whether they were formal medical statements.

Further information about his current hospital visit was not immediately available.
