Fresh from a dream Test debut for India, left-arm spinner Manav Suthar continued his impressive run by making an immediate impact for Warwickshire in the County Championship. Playing his first match for the English county against Yorkshire, the 23-year-old picked up two wickets on the opening day as Yorkshire finished on 398 for six.Suthar struck for the first time by dismissing Sam Whiteman for 55 soon after the batter reached his half-century. Later in the day, he removed opener William Luxton, trapping him leg-before after the Yorkshire batter had compiled a marathon 167 from 261 deliveries. The young spinner arrived in England on the back of a memorable debut for India in the one-off Test against Afghanistan. He was named Player of the Match after taking seven wickets in the game, including remarkable figures of 6/33 in the first innings, as India secured victory by an innings and 300 runs.Suthar earned his maiden India call-up after consistent performances in domestic cricket for Rajasthan, where he has claimed 136 first-class wickets at an average of 24.89. He has been signed by Warwickshire for the next two rounds of the County Championship and is also expected to feature against Somerset next week.Meanwhile, experienced India pacer Jaydev Unadkat also enjoyed a productive outing for Sussex. The left-arm seamer returned figures of 4/29 in 14.2 overs against Glamorgan, helping bowl out the opposition for 155.Unadkat, who signed a two-year deal with Sussex in 2024, has continued to make valuable contributions for the county with his disciplined bowling performances.
