Hanks officially launched his very own coffee brand under the nonprofit model, meaning none of the proceeds earned by the coffee will go to him; instead, they will be distributed to many military families across the nation.

Initially known as Hanx Coffee and now called Hanks for Our Troops, the coffee brand has a curated collection for coffee lovers. It offers ground coffee and single-serve pods in various roasts and flavours. Called “coffee with purpose,” Hanks connected his brand with all kinds of veteran services that operate across America to provide funds and create awareness.On the official website of the coffee brand, the ‘story’ behind it all is written about how “At HANKS, we’re on a mission to create goods that do good. We honour the patriotism and service of our veterans and their families by giving all profits to organisations that will provide them with critical support and resources.” They also listed all of the organisations they work with and help by providing as much financial support as possible. These organisations work in different ways and sectors to help war veterans and their families, including employment, mental health resources, education, and assistance for military communities. People can order the coffee from the official website, though it is also available in-store at a popular chain.Hanks is not the only celebrity who has started similar initiatives to help the community around them. Paul Newman started his own salad dressing firm called ‘Newman’s Own’ after he used to make it mainly for his family and neighbours, donating 100% of its profits to charity.
