Bomb scare on Dubai–Hyderabad Emirates flight: Threat email sparks alert; aircraft lands safely at RGIA

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Friday received a bomb threat email for Emirates flight EK526 from Dubai (DXB) to Hyderabad (HYD), which led the airport to follow standard safety procedures after the plane landed, according to news agency ANI.According to GMR PRO, the email reached Hyderabad Airport customer support at around 7.30 am. Despite the threat, the flight continued under heightened surveillance and landed safely at RGIA around 8.30 am.

After landing, security teams moved the aircraft to an isolated bay and safely deboarded all passengers, following standard procedures. This comes amid a series of bomb-related threats targeting flights to Hyderabad. On Thursday, IndiGo flight 6E 058 from Medina to Hyderabad made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad after a similar threat. The flight had 180 passengers and six crew members. Earlier this week, a Kuwait-Hyderabad IndiGo flight was also diverted to Mumbai following a bomb scare.Also See: Indigo Flight CancelledEarlier incidents include a fake threat on 22 November claiming an RDX device near the arrivals area, which police later confirmed to be a hoax. On 1 November, another bomb threat email forced an IndiGo flight to divert.“On 01.11.2025 at about 0535 hrs, a message was received from APOC that an email was received at RGIA Customer Support RGIA.Customersupport@gmrgroup.in from email ID Papaita Rajan at 05:25 hrs with Subject: Prevent landing of IndiGO 68 to Hyderabad,” RGIA officials said. They added that the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) convened virtually from 0539 hrs to 0622 hrs and declared it a specific threat.
