State-owned GAIL (India) Board has approved ₹5,363.88 crore Jamnagar-Loni liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) pipeline capacity expansion project.

The capacity is set to be increased from the existing 3.25 MMTPA to 6.5 MMTPA. The existing capacity utilisation of the facility is 3.22 MMTPA, GAIL said intimating the stock exchanges of the board decision.

The project had received authorisation from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) on July 23 and the completion schedule is 36 months from the date. GAIL said the investment for the project would be raised through a combination of debt and equity.

The capacity is set to be increased from the existing 3.25 MMTPA to 6.5 MMTPA. The existing capacity utilisation of the facility is 3.22 MMTPA, GAIL said.

In another decision, the GAIL board approved a revision in the schedule of the 1702 km Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda natural gas pipeline project from From September 30 to December 31.
