Patna: A road rage incident turned violent in Siwan district on Wednesday evening when a youth, Harsh Kumar Singh, 28, was shot dead, while his father was seriously injured. The incident took place near Laxmipur-Andar Dhala overbridge in the Town police station area.According to police sources, Harsh was the nephew (bhanja) of former MLC and BJP leader Manoj Kumar Singh. His father, Chandan Singh, was critically injured in the firing.After primary treatment, Chandan was referred to the PMCH, due to his critical condition.On receiving information, SP Puran Kumar Jha, SDPO Ajay Kumar and Town SHO Avinash Kumar crime spot.SDPO said, “The firing took place around 6pm near Kamala Press. Father and son were critically injured and rushed to hospital, where the son died. The father remains critical and has been referred to Patna for better treatment. Police are investigating the case and conducting raids to identify and arrest the culprits.”According to the cops, Chandan was going to attend a tilak ceremony with his son Harsh. They had parked their vehicle by the roadside and were waiting for other family members. Meanwhile, a minor collision occurred between their car and another vehicle. A brief argument suddenly escalated, and the attackers opened indiscriminate fire on them.Harsh was hit by multiple bullets and he died on the spot. Chandan collapsed on the road with serious injuries.
