'Don 3' dispute escalates; Producers Guild plans sit-down over Ranveer Singh–Farhan Akhtar casting tussle
A significant dispute has erupted between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar’s production house over ‘Don 3’. Following Singh’s exit, the filmmakers are reportedly seeking ₹40 crore in compensation for pre-production expenses. The Producers Guild of India is set to mediate an informal meeting, with a potential escalation to CINTAA if a resolution isn’t reached within ten days.

The tussle between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar over ‘Don 3’ has come out in the open. After the actor’s exit from the project, the filmmaker’s production house demanded Rs 40 crore in compensation, which the banner apparently spent on the movie’s pre-production work. According to the latest development, the meeting for the same has been scheduled with the Producers Guild of India for the end of February.

Producers Guild to informally address Ranveer Singh vs Farhan Akhtar over ‘Don 3’

According to the Mid-Day report, a source, who is a senior Guild member, stated, “No formal complaint has been placed before the general body. But both sides will be heard informally.”

Another source told the publication that after both parties are done with the meeting, they will be given a 10-day window to come to a mutual resolution. The insider stated, “If talks fail, the body is likely to escalate the issue to the Cine & TV Artistes Association [CINTAA]. CINTAA’s involvement would ensure that both producer and artiste’s interests are balanced.”The source further shared with the website that the dispute will be a reference point to form a new policy with respect to rising production costs. The person shared, “Producers today are bearing disproportionate financial pressure due to expanding entourage. Seeing that stars’ entourages remain bloated, as evident from this case, it’s best to put guidelines in place.”‘Don 3’ dispute escalates; Producers Guild plans sit-down over Ranveer Singh–Farhan Akhtar issue
