'Dhurandhar 2' box office collection day 17 [LIVE]: Ranveer Singh, Rakesh Bedi film eyes Rs 990 crore India net milestone
Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ is on the verge of history, eyeing the Rs. 1,000 crore India net milestone on day 17. Starring Ranveer Singh, the spy thriller has amassed Rs. 963.03 crore domestically and Rs. 1,523.58 crore globally. Despite ongoing IPL 2026 season, the film continues to shatter records, surpassing SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali 2’ in North America and outperforming the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan’ and Yash starrer ‘KGF 2’ in its trajectory.

Aditya Dhar’s high-octane espionage thriller, ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’, enters its seventeenth day on Saturday, April 4, 2026. After officially dethroning SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali 2’ to become the highest-grossing Indian film of all time in North America, the Ranveer Singh starrer amassed a domestic net of Rs. 961.61 crore after sixteen days with the worldwide gross collection soaring to Rs. 1,523.58 crore. What makes this record so special is that the film reached this massive number without the help of any public holidays and while competing for viewers against the biggest IPL season ever. This combination of challenges makes its box office success both historic and completely one-of-a-kind.The thriller is now just Rs. 40 crore away from the Rs. 1,000 crore India net milestone. With family audiences and repeat viewers expected to flood theaters through the day, a day 17 collection in the Rs. 55–65 crore range would push the total domestic net past Rs. 1,000 crore making ‘Dhurandhar 2’ only the second Indian film in history after the Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ to achieve this landmark in domestic net collections alone.

‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ first week and second week projections

After a record-shattering Week 1 that brought in a historic Rs. 674.17 crore, the film showed remarkable staying power by adding another Rs. 263.15 crore in its Week 2. Even as it entered its third week, the momentum remained incredibly strong; on day 16, the film collected Rs. 21.55 crore, marking a significant 17.8% jump from the previous day.According to data from Sacnilk, a pivotal moment in this historic run occurred on day 11, Sunday, March 29 when the film amassed a massive Rs. 68.10 crore, marking its highest single-day haul in the second week. This surge propelled the domestic net past the lifetime collection of the original 2025-released ‘Dhurandhar’ Rs. 840.20 crore in just 11 days, a feat the first film took over 100 days to achieve. This rapid growth has allowed the sequel to outpace legendary record-holders like Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan’ and Yash starrer ‘KGF Chapter 2’ in its second-week trajectory.‘Dhurandhar 2’ has remained completely immune to the IPL 2026 season, despite it being the largest in history with 84 matches. While high-stakes cricket games usually cause evening theater occupancy to plummet, the thriller has defied the odds.

More about ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’

‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ chronicles the story of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a Punjabi man motivated by the tragic loss of his family. Recruited by R&AW, he undergoes a total transformation to become Hamza Ali Mazari, India’s most dangerous undercover spy stationed deep within Karachi. The film blends fictional spy drama with real historical milestones like the 2014 General Elections, the 2016 demonetization, and even the real-life renaming of the Chakki Bank station to Pathankot woven into the plot with incredible detailing across different timelines.Ranveer Singh leads the film across a runtime of 3 hours and 49 minutes (229 minutes, certified U/A by the CBFC) in what is unanimously regarded as the defining performance of his career. The antagonists features Sanjay Dutt as SSP Chaudhary Aslam and Arjun Rampal as the calculating ISI mastermind Major Iqbal, with Rakesh Bedi delivering a standout performance as Jameel Jamali, an Indian spy embedded within the Pakistani political system, a character inspired by real-life political figure Nabeel Gabol, who notably praised Bedi’s portrayal publicly. Udaybir Sandhu as Pinda has become a viral breakout, with his dialogue “Ghar di yaad nahi aayi tujhe, Jassi?” trending globally weeks after the film’s release. The film also features Yami Gautam in a key cameo appearance.DISCLAIMER: The box office numbers and data in this article are compiled from diverse public and industry sources.
