CJP activist alleges stone pelting at home hours after 'influencer' Swatantra Bhardwaj's arrest
The minor activist shared a series of videos on X on Saturday night.

NEW DELHI: A minor CJP activist has alleged that her house was surrounded by people she described as “goons” and pelted with stones, several hours after social media ‘influencer’ Swatantra Bhardwaj was arrested over an alleged attack on her father during the CJP protests at Jantar Mantar. The minor activist shared a series of videos on X on Saturday night. She alleged that people associated with the BJP had been surrounding their house and appealed to the Delhi and Ghaziabad police to provide security and protection to her family.“What if something happens to my parents? Who will be held responsible for that?” she asked in one of the videos. In another video, she alleged that the people outside her home had thrown stones and bricks at the house.NSUI national president Vinod Jakhar visited the family’s residence and questioned the police over the alleged delay in taking action against those accused in the attack.Jakhar alleged that although a case had been registered earlier, the police had failed to take strict action. He claimed the case gained momentum only after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi intervened.“Swatantra Bhardwaj himself said that he had attacked the activist’s father… This gives the impression that the BJP protects such goons,” Jakhar alleged.“If the police had registered the case earlier, why was no action taken? It was only after Rahul Gandhi raised the issue that the police became active and spoke of strict action,” Jakhar said.Bhardwaj was detained in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday by the Delhi Police Crime Branch and subsequently brought to Delhi. He was arrested in connection with an FIR relating to the alleged attempt to murder the activist’s father. Police have alleged that Bhardwaj and another man, Suraj, were involved in the attack.A Special Judge under the SC-ST Act at Patiala House court remanded Bhardwaj to one day in police custody after hearing submissions from the Delhi Police. He was produced before the concerned judge at the Karkardooma Court complex. The court is expected to hear the matter further today.
