‘Bakra halal hote dekha hai’: Class XI student stabbed to death; heavy police deployed in Ghaziabad area
A 17-year-old boy was stabbed by his friend in Khoda Colony over an argument on Thursday evening

GHAZIABAD: A 17-year-old boy was stabbed by his friend in Khoda Colony over an argument on Thursday evening. The teenager, Surya Pratap, succumbed to injuries on Friday afternoon at the hospital. The exact motive behind the “multiple stabbing” will be clear only after the arrest of the accused, Asad, who fled. DCP of Trans-Hindon and City Dhawal Jaiswal said, “The reason behind the murder is not clear yet. The accused is absconding and several teams have been formed to arrest him.”Also read: Ghaziabad teen stabbed to death: How a ‘Bakrid invite’ led to tragedy; 3 arrestedSurya, a resident of Navneet Vihar of Khoda Colony, was a Class XI student of a private school in Khoda. Police registered an FIR following a complaint lodged by Yash, the deceased’s elder brother, with Khoda police station.Yash said that around 3.30pm on Thursday, a youth, Asad, attacked his brother Surya with intent to kill near Sharma Dairy in Khoda Colony. Yash said, “My brother and his friends Ayush and Vicky were together at the time. Meanwhile, they encountered Asad in the lane. He began quarrelling with my brother and hurled abuses. Asad stabbed my brother four times in the abdomen with intent to kill. After getting information, we immediately reached and took him to a nearby private hospital, where he succumbed to injuries on Friday.”Vicky, a friend of Surya, said a “youth of another religion (minority)” living nearby had called and invited them to his place on Bakrid. Surya, Vicky and Ayush arrived outside the accused’s house. Asad told Surya, ‘Tumne kabhi bakra halal hote dekha hai?” To which Surya replied, “Nahi”. Asad said, “Aao dikhate hain (Have you ever seen a goat being killed? Come, we will show you).” At this, Surya refused and started to leave, following which the accused began abusing and hurling expletives, Vicky told police.Ayush said that when he objected to the abuses, the accused stabbed Surya multiple times in the stomach with a knife, and later escaped. Ayush and Vicky informed the family members and took Surya to a nearby hospital, from where the family members took the injured to Fortis Hospital in Noida.A senior police officer said that eight months ago, a scuffle between Surya and Asad started. At that time, both had physical fights as well. But a few days ago, both became friends and came on talking terms.DCP Jaiswal said that on the basis of the complaint, the FIR was registered on Thursday under Sections 109 (attempt to murder) and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of BNS at Khoda police station. But now that the victim has died, the FIR will be converted into a murder case.“A heavy police force is also deployed at the Khoda police station to maintain the law and order situation. We are also checking the CCTV cameras near the accused,” he said.
