Kejriwal Targets BJP Over NEET Leak, Says ‘Gen-Z Can Demand Accountability Like Nepal & Bangladesh’

AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday urged India’s Gen Z population to demand accountability in the alleged NEET paper leak case, saying young people had the power to force political change.

NEW DELHI: AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday urged India’s Gen Z population to demand accountability in the alleged NEET paper leak case, saying young people had the power to force political change.Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said repeated incidents of question paper leaks had shaken the confidence of students preparing for competitive examinations.

Kejriwal called Gen Z to take to the streets against people involved in the paper leaks.“If Gen Z in countries like Bangladesh and Nepal could change the government, then Indian youth could also ensure accountability in cases of paper leaks,” the former Delhi chief minister said.Kejriwal questioned the effectiveness of investigations conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation into previous examination leaks and asked whether those responsible had ever faced strict punishment.“Since the Modi government came to power in 2014, there have been 93 instances of exam paper leak. The majority of the paper leaks have happened under the BJP govts. This affected 6 crore youth. Most paper leak incidents happened in BJP-ruled states of Rajasthan, UP, Uttarakhand and Gujarat. It is not a coincidence that there are BJP governments in these states at the Centre,” Kejriwal said.“We are getting reports that the epicentre of the recent NEET paper leak is Rajasthan. It creates a doubt – are their leaders involved? If it is so, then what can CBI do? I want to ask the Gen-Z: Should this continue?” he added further.Stating the example of Nepal and Bangladesh Gen-Z protest, which overthrew the KP Oli and Sheikh Hasina government, Kejriwal said, “if the Gen-Z of Nepal and Bangladesh can come out on the roads and change their governments, then can’t our Gen-Z send ministers involved in the paper leak incidents to jail? I have full faith in you.”“Accuse those who are involved in this, send them to jail, take to the streets, protest and shut this vile game,” he said.He also alleged that the ongoing CBI probe into the alleged NEET paper leak would not lead to any meaningful outcome.“The CBI has failed to do anything in previous paper leak cases,” he claimed.Referring to multiple alleged examination paper leaks since 2014, Kejriwal said such incidents had affected the future of crores of students across the country. He further alleged that several of these cases had occurred in states governed by the BJP.The remarks come amid continuing political debate over alleged irregularities in recruitment and entrance examinations, which opposition parties say have undermined trust in the system among young aspirants.
