AMBALA: In a horrific family tragedy caught on camera, a 22-year-old shot dead his elder brother, grandmother and uncle and critically injured an aunt in an Ambala village on Saturday evening when he allegedly tried to settle a land feud with bullets and blood.Police named the deceased as Sandeep Kumar, 40, Isro Devi, who was in her 90s, and Mahinder Singh, 50. Mahinder’s wife Sunita, 45, is battling for life in hospital. Police are looking for the accused, Abhishek of Bichpari village. The triple murder took place in Bichpari village of Shahzadpur area, around 30km from Ambala. On a complaint from Sandeep’s wife Neha, police have registered a case against Abhishek and his parents Satbir Singh and Usha under BNS section 61 (criminal conspiracy), 103(1) (murder) and section 25 of Arms Act.Neha alleges in her complaint that her father-in-law Satbir and brother-in-law Abhishek sold off sand from their part of land and from the land of Mahinder Singh (Satbir’s brother) and divided the money among themselves. Also read: Ex-BJP MLA’s son among 7 jailed for 10 years in Ambala attempt-to-murder case“No share was given to uncle Mahinder. My husband and uncle demanded their share of the sand money from Satbir and Abhishek. They had heated arguments due to this issue. A scuffle took place on Saturday evening, too, when Abhishek suddenly started shooting with a pistol,” said Neha.CCTV footage shows Abhishek shooting with a semi-automatic pistol at point blank range. Residents said the family was embroiled in disputes over ancestral property and money for quite some time but no one imagined it would end in such bloodshed. The elderly grandmother, who saw three generations of the family living together under one roof, also fell victim to the violence.Police investigations revealed that the accused had planned the attack in advance. Officials are probing how Abhishek obtained the pistol and whether it was a licenced weapon. Raids are being conducted to trace the source of the firearm.Abhishek was pursuing a pharmacy course in Bagwali, Panchkula, said sources. His family members said they were unaware that he possessed a weapon.Abhishek’s father Satbir Singh, a retired health department employee, said tensions existed between Abhishek and his elder brother Sandeep and uncle Mahinder for some time over money and property.
