CJP’s Saurav Das alleges tanks being transported to Delhi

NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das on Saturday urged the Centre to accept the protesters’ demands, alleging that the government was transporting tanks to Delhi while the student agitation continued.“Ab aayega aur maza! The government must understand that it can either bomb the peaceful protesters using the tanks it is transporting to Delhi (I mean, what are they trying to do by transporting these? Kill their own children? Is this where we have come in Gandhi’s India?) Or, accept demands. The time is ticking!” Das said in a post on X.He made the remarks while sharing a post by the Bharatiya Kisan Union announcing that it would join the ongoing student protest at Jantar Mantar. The development comes as CJP reiterated that it may adopt a “tough stance” if the Centre does not clarify its position on the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.Speaking to reporters, CJP activist Ashutosh Ranka said the meeting with Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh was constructive, but added that the organisation was still awaiting the government’s response to its primary demand.“Yesterday’s meeting yielded a positive response regarding compensation and legal matters, reaching an in-principle agreement. We hope to receive that written agreement today. However, no concrete decision has been made regarding our main demand. Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.”“Mainstream media reports suggest sources are saying Pradhan will not step down. If he does not resign, the government should state it clearly, as there is no point in continuing these meetings. We will then decide on our next steps. If the government continues this approach, we will be forced to take a tough stance,” Ranka said.Earlier, activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike at Medanta Hospital in the presence of Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh after the Union government gave a written assurance on the NEET examination issue and broader systemic reforms to the country’s competitive examination framework.Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said strict action would be taken against those responsible for the alleged paper leaks. He also said the Union Cabinet would consider a draft Bill proposing fast-track courts and stricter punishment for offenders.

Do you support the call for a tough stance if demands are not met?
