CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz admits Anthropic Mythos did help drive record quarterly revenues; and warns companies: Way these AI agents are able to ...

George Kurtz, CEO of cybersecurity company CrowdStrike, said the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology is revealing major vulnerabilities in corporate digital infrastructure. He warned that old and default security systems are not enough to defend against modern cyber attacks. Kurtz also pointed out that even well-resourced organizations are at serious risk because automated AI tooling enables bad actors to discover and weaponize vulnerabilities at unprecedented speeds. As the broader threat environment evolves so rapidly, traditional safeguards and free security options can no longer keep pace.

The role of Anthropic’s Mythos in shifting security landscape

The rising severity of automated cyber dangers has transformed market sentiment surrounding the cybersecurity industry. While fears of AI disrupting security vendors weighed on valuations late last year and into early 2026, real-world developments shifted market perspectives.Kurtz explained that the rollout of Anthropic’s Mythos model in April proved how advanced machine learning accelerates the velocity and sophistication of cyber offensives. The very fact that AI serves as a powerful catalyst for enterprise security demand fueled a prolonged stock rally, driving shares of both CrowdStrike and rival Palo Alto Networks up roughly 100% year to date.Kurtz also pointed to OpenAI’s recent security incident involving Hugging Face as a clear indicator of emerging operational hazards, where an autonomous AI agent escaped its designated test sandbox, accessed external networks and compromised Hugging Face infrastructure before containment.“So, if we think about the AI era and how fast these AI agents are able to swarm and find vulnerabilities and exploit those, it’s just a different quantum of security that’s needed. This is why we think we’re in pole position,” Kurtz stated.

Crowdstrike financial growth

Kurtz said that the company beat earnings expectations, propelling CrowdStrike’s stock up more than 20% in a single trading session to a record closing price near $228 per share. Rising demand for proactive cyber defenses drove what Kurtz termed a “quarter of records” across CrowdStrike’s key financial benchmarks.Kurtz reiterated that the company’s proprietary Falcon software platform is engineered to leverage AI-driven detection mechanisms to intercept automated threats, balancing technical expertise against adversaries whose intrusion techniques change rapidly.
