Khamzat Chimaev has once again made his intentions clear. The former UFC middleweight champion wants an immediate rematch against current titleholder Sean Strickland. Chimaev recently used social media to call out the champion and urged him to accept another fight as soon as possible. The latest message comes months after Chimaev suffered the first loss of his professional MMA career. He dropped a close split decision to Strickland at UFC 328 in one of the most competitive middleweight title fights in recent years. Since then, Chimaev has repeatedly said that he deserves another chance to fight for the belt.

Khamzat Chimaev continues to campaign for Sean Strickland rematch

Khamzat Chimaev posted a direct message to Sean Strickland on X. In the post, he challenged the champion to stop delaying the rematch and accept the fight. Chimaev expressed confidence that he would win regardless of when the bout happens. He also suggested that agreeing to the contest sooner would make things easier for the champion in the long run.The post quickly caught the attention of MMA fans. Many supporters welcomed the possibility of another title fight between the two rivals. Others argued that several other middleweight contenders also deserve an opportunity to compete for the championship.Meanwhile, Sean Strickland was recently spotted chilling on a beach while wrestling teenagers. Lately he has been quite active on social media as well.Chimaev entered UFC 328 with an unbeaten professional record and plenty of momentum. He made a strong start in the championship fight by using his wrestling to control much of the opening round. However, Strickland gradually settled into the contest. After five closely contested rounds, all three judges scored the fight 48-47. Two judges awarded the contest to Strickland, while one sided with Chimaev. The split decision handed Chimaev the first defeat of his MMA career and crowned Strickland as the new middleweight champion.Since that night, Chimaev has consistently argued that the narrow result deserves an immediate rematch. He believes the closeness of the contest justifies another title opportunity. Members of his team have also continued to push for a second fight, saying the rivalry is unfinished. At the same time, several other middleweight contenders have been campaigning for their own title shot. This has created uncertainty over who will challenge Strickland next.So far, Sean Strickland has not publicly responded to Chimaev’s latest message. The champion recently said that he is planning to return later this year after recovering from injuries suffered during their five-round championship battle. For now, the UFC has not officially announced Strickland’s next opponent and he remains suspended from competition due to medical reasons. However, Chimaev has made it clear that he is ready to step back into the Octagon whenever the opportunity comes. His latest tweet leaves little doubt that reclaiming the middleweight title from Sean Strickland remains his top priority.
