Iran US War LIVE:Iran’s Vice President Esmail Saghab Esfahani has issued “quadruple” damage warning after US President Donald Trump issued renewed threats and said, “If any of our infrastructure including oil wells become damaged as a result of blockade we ensure quadruple of the same would happen to countries provide support to the aggressor.”

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met Russian President Vladimir Putin in St Petersburg on Monday, Kremlin said. Tass news agency quoted Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, who said the “importance of this conversation is hard to overestimate in terms of how the situation around Iran and in the Middle East is developing”. Araghchi arrived in Russia on Monday in order to seek support from Moscow as talks between US and Iran remain stalled to end the war in West Asia.

Earlier, Araghchi said “excessive” US demands led to the failure of recent negotiations between the two countries despite progress, according to Iranian state media reports. “The US approaches caused the previous round of negotiations, despite progress, to fail to reach its goals because of the excessive demands,” Araghchi said. He also said that “safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz is an important global issue.” Fighting and political signalling continue across multiple fronts, with no immediate sign of de-escalation despite renewed diplomatic outreach.

Five latest developments:

  • Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon continued despite a US-brokered ceasefire, with at least 14 people reported killed, including two children.
  • Donald Trump said Iranian leaders “can come to us, or they can call us” if they want talks, a day after cancelling a planned visit by US envoys to Pakistan.
  • Hezbollah claimed multiple attacks on Israeli troops, saying the strikes were in response to what it called ongoing ceasefire violations.
  • Tensions remain high in the Strait of Hormuz, with Iranian lawmaker Ali Nikzad saying Tehran will not allow a return to pre-war conditions.
  • Diplomatic efforts are intensifying, with Iran engaging regional and international actors, including Russia, in a push to contain the conflict.
