Traffic changes today in Pimpri Chinchwad for Stage 1 of race

Pimpri Chinchwad police have issued a notification about traffic changes for Tuesday (January 20) in Hinjewadi, Wakad, Dehu Road, Nigdi areas for stage I of the Pune Grand Tour. This stage will start from TCS Circle in Hinjewadi and conclude at Dr DY PatilInternational Institute in Akurdi, covering a stretch of 91.8 kms over Mulshi-Maval-PCMC stretch.

A notification for these traffic changes was issued by Vivek Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) for Pimpri Chinchwad. These changes will be in force in Hinjewadi, Wakad, Dehu Road and NIgdi jurisdictions from 9 am till 5 pm while the actual race will be conducted between 1.30 pm to 3.45 pm. These traffic changes will not be applicable to police vehicles and authorised vehicles involved in organisation and administration of the event, the notification said. Following are the road closures and corresponding alternate routes in each of the traffic divisions.

Hinjewadi Division

Traffic moving from Bhoirwadi village towards the Helipad Circle will be stopped and will redirected via the Capital and Circle Road via through internal roads. Vehicles going from Symphony Society towards Bapuji Bua Temple and Hinjewadi Phase-3 will be stopped and diverted via Maan village towards Bapuji Bua Khind and Chande Phata route. Vehicles going from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Chowk towards Shinde Vasti will be stopped and diverted via Tata Junction chowk towards Shinde Vasti and Laxmi Chowk route.

Vehicles going from Laxmi Chowk to Kasarsai and Marunji villages will be redirected via Tata T-Junction Chowk and Phase-3 route. Traffic from Mezza-9 Chowk towards Laxmi Chowk will be prohibited and diverted via Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk route. Traffic from Kasturi Chowk towards Vinode Vasti Chowk will be diverted via Bhumkar Chowk towards Vinode Vasti Corner and can either use the Indian Oil Chowk route or the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk route. All vehicles going from Shani Mandir towards Bhumkar underpass will be stopped and diverted via Indira College and should then make a U-turn for Tathawade underpass.

Dehu Road Division

Traffic from Krishna Traders going to PDCC Bank will be stopped and vehicles will be diverted through internal Dehu Road village roads.

Movement of heavy vehicles from Parandwadi Phata towards Bebadohal will be restricted and traffic will be rerouted via Urse Road after a right from Parandwadi.

Nigdi Division

Traffic from Chaphekar Chowk to Old Jakat Naka via Chinchwad Road moving towards Walhekarwadi will remain closed and motorists will be diverted through Old Jakat Naka–Jain School–Seven Orange Hospital route. Traffic proceeding from Chinchwad Nagar and going to Walhekarwadi via Kolhapuri Tea Point Hotel Road will be stopped and diverted via Chinchwad Nagar to Bijlinagar Road.

Vehicles heading from Bhakti Shakti Chowk side to Walhekarwadi through Triveni Hospital Chowk Road will not be allowed and will be diverted through Chintamani Chowk and Bijlinagar Chowk. Traffic coming from Aher Garden towards Walhekarwadi Rover Road will be restricted and diverted via Chintamani Ganesh Mandir–Walhekarwadi Chowk Road.

Movement of vehicles from Gurudwara Chowk to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk to Walhekarwadi will be stopped and alternate access routes will be provided via Jamaat Masjid to Walhekarwadi to Gurudwara Road.

Wakad Division

Traffic between Bhaumkar Chowk and Dange Chowk will be diverted via Decathlon Tathawade to Tathawade underpass route. The road from Jaguar Showroom all the way till Bhumkar Chowk will be closed and commuters will be required to take Phoenix Mall road.

Traffic from Phoenix Mall towards Kala Khadak Signal will be diverted via Skyline Road and Chaudhari Park Road. All vehicles coming from Kala Khadak to T Junction will be diverted via Decathlon and Mumbai–Bengaluru Highway. The road from Sate Chowk to Jadhav Corner will be closed to traffic and vehicles will be diverted via Datt Mandir or Chaudhari Park road.
