US President Donald Trump on Sunday reshared a social media post that suggested that Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was born to Cuban immigrant parents, would be the next president of Cuba.

While resharing a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump republished a message from X user Cliff Smith on January 8 that read, “Marco Rubio will be president of Cuba,” accompanied with a crying, laughing emoji.

While responding to the post, Trump said, “Sounds good to me!” However, there is no official US statement or diplomatic plan till now that refers to Rubio taking over as the next president of Cuba.
