'Ikkis' box office collection Day 3: Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra starrer hits Rs 15 crore mark; sees limited growth amid 'Dhurandhar' wave

After a steady New Year opening, ‘Ikkis’ starring Agastya Nanda and Dharmendra in lead roles, has shown marginal growth at the box office, amid the dominance of the Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘Dhurandhar’. Despite positive word of mouth for its emotional war narrative and great buzz, the Sriram Raghavan-directed war film has seen an average footfall.Ikkis Movie Review

‘Ikkis’ box office collection Day 3

As per early estimates on Sacnilk, ‘Ikkis’ earned around Rs 4.65 crore India net on Day 3. This was a slight improvement over its Friday numbers.

‘Ikkis’ vs ‘Dhurandhar’

While ‘Ikkis’ has earned praise on social media for its emotional story, treatment of a real-life war hero, and the ‘perfect’ farewell to late veteran star Dharmendra, it has been unable to counter the box-office dominance of the spy action film ‘Dhurandhar’. The Ranveer starrer continued its historic run on Saturday, returning to double-digit daily figures with an estimated Rs 11.75 crore. This helped push the film’s total collection to an estimated Rs 759.50 crore, as per Sacnilk.

‘Ikkis’ vs ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’

Besides facing off against ‘Dhurandhar’, ‘Ikkis’ has also been facing stiff competition from the Hollywood release ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’. The movie which is in its third week at the box office, has managed to match its box office numbers, earning an estimated Rs 4.50 crore on Saurday. The film also earned in the Rs 3 crore range on Friday, almost matching its box office total.

‘Ikkis’ among highest earning films by debutants

Although Agastya Nanda made his film debut in ‘The Archies’, ‘Ikkis’ marks his theatrical debut. With the film opening its box office collections to an impressive Rs 7 crore, puts it among the top 10 highest earning films at the box office led by a debutant.

And the film flawless in its presentation .. its writing .. its Direction .. And when it ends .. the eyes filled with tears of joy and pride .. unable to speak out,” he added.
