NBEMS FMGE Latest News: The Delhi High Court has directed the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to treat a court order, along with an affidavit filed by the National Testing Agency (NTA), as the NEET-UG 2019 scorecard of an aspirant appearing for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE).

Justice Sachin Datta was hearing the plea filed by one Suhana K N, an OBC (NCL) aspirant, who sought urgent relief after being unable to produce her physical NEET-UG 2019 scorecard while applying for the FMGE December 2025 session.

Suhana prayed that the court order, together with the NTA affidavit, be treated as her NEET-UG 2019 scorecard, dispensing with the requirement of furnishing the physical scorecard for the FMGE December 2025 session and future FMGE examinations.

“The NBEMS is directed to treat the affidavit filed by the National Testing Agency, together with the present order, as the NEET-UG 2019 scorecard of the petitioner for all relevant purposes,” the order read.

The high court noted that the NTA had filed an affidavit dated December 26, 2025, confirming that the petitioner had secured 472 marks, obtained a rank of 67,390, and was declared ‘qualified’ in NEET-UG 2019.

One of the petitioner’s counsel, advocate Yatharth Rohila, also referred to earlier orders passed by coordinate benches in December 2025, where similarly placed NEET-UG 2019 aspirants were granted identical relief.

Taking note of these precedents, the court on December 31, 2025, directed that the NTA affidavit and the present order be treated as the petitioner’s NEET-UG 2019 scorecard for all purposes.

Dismissing the application along with the plea, the court cancelled the hearing scheduled for January 26 in the matter.

What is FMGE

The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is a screening test conducted by NBEMS twice a year for Indian nationals who hold a medical qualification from a foreign institution and seek to practise medicine in India.

Only those who qualify in this examination are eligible to register with the National Medical Commission or state medical councils to practice medicine in India.

The examination is a computer-based test comprising 300 multiple-choice questions, with no negative marking. Aspirants are required to secure a minimum of 150 marks out of 300 to qualify.

NBEMS has invited applications for the FMGE December 2025 session, with the last date for submission being December 4 (11:55 pm). The examination is scheduled to be held on January 17, 2026, at various test centres across the country, and the results are expected to be declared by February 17, 2026.
