India vs South Africa 1st Test Match Playing 11, Full Squad: Shubman Gill’s India will lock horns with Temba Bavuma’s South Africa in a two-match Test series. The first Test starts at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday. While India has whitewashed West Indies in their previous assignment, South Africa are coming on the back of a 1-1 draw against Pakistan.

With Dhruv Jurel confirmed to start and Nitish Kumar Reddy released to play India-A series and Rishabh Pant returning it does seem like India are going to go into the series with an extra batter instead of an all-rounder.

India’s bowling, Kuldeep Yadav did play the last home series after missing out in England. Against the West Indies, the Indian wrist spinner was quite wily. In addition to him, the likes of Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja present a different challenge for the batters. And the pace duo of Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah have been in good form. As per South Africa, it is highly likely they are going to play a two-spinner combination for the Test match.
