Ajit Pawar and Praful Patel among NCP’s 40 star campaigners for municipal council and nagar panchayat polls

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has announced a list of 40 star campaigners, including Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and MPs Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare, for the upcoming municipal council and nagar panchayat elections in Maharashtra.

The list was released by Sunil Tatkare, who is the party’s state president.

The star campaigners are NCP president Ajit Pawar, national working president Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare, Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif, former minister Dhananjay Munde, Food & Drug Administration Minister Narahari Zirwal, Sports Minister Manikrao Kokate, Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil, Relief & Rehabilitation Minister Makarand Patil, Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Anna Bansode, Women & Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare, Minister of State for Tourism Indranil Naik, former minister Dharmaraobaba Atram, former minister Anil Bhaidas Patil, former minister Sanjay Bansode, MLA Pratap Patil-Chikhlikar, former minister Nawab Malik, senior leader Sayaji Shinde, Minorities Commission Chairman Mushtaq Antulay, former MP Sameer Bhujbal, MLA Amol Mitkari, MLA Sana Malik-Sheikh, women’s wing state president Rupalitai Chakankar, MLA Idris Nayakvadi, former MLA Aniket Tatkare, former MLA Zeeshan Siddique, former MLA Rajendra Jain, Mumbai working president Siddharth Kamble, state general secretary Suraj Chavan, Lahu Kande, OBC Cell state president Kalyan Aakhade, Social Cell state president Sunil Magare, Minority Cell state president Nazer Qazi, Mahesh Shinde, Rajalakshmi Bhosale, Surekhatatai Thackeray, Najeeb Mulla, Pratibhatatai Shinde, and Vikas Pasalkar.

Elections to 246 municipal councils and 42 nagar panchayats will be held on December 2 as the state will witness local body polls after a gap of more than five years, the Maharashtra State Election Commission has announced. The counting of votes will be held on December 3.
