Starting October 30, the Nuh district will implement a paperless deed registration system. The announcement was made by Deputy Commissioner Akhil Pilani on Tuesday.

The move is in line with the Haryana government’s decision to enforce the system state-wide from November 1.

Pilani stated that post-October 30, the old registration system will cease to function in Nuh. “To facilitate data transfer, mutation activities are being suspended. Residents are urged not to purchase new stamp papers, as those already bought can be used within a week of the new system’s implementation,” he said.

The Haryana government had first launched a pilot project for online paperless deed registration system at Naraingarh tehsil on August 11 this year.

Earlier, the paper scrutiny process would take place on the day of appointment, causing a 30 per cent failure in the deed registration either due to objections or lack of documents, officials had said.

Now, with a template-based application module in place, the application is pushed for verification to the tehsil office concerned. After receiving approval on the same portal, the applicant can complete the payment process and book an appointment slot.

The applicant, in such cases, only has to appear for a photograph and signature/biometrics on the day of the appointment as their approved application is already online.

The practice is expected to reduce wait time, eliminate queues, and minimise procedural inefficiencies.

Nuh district is now implementing the paperless deed registration process as part of the second phase of the initiative.

Sumita Misra, Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management, had in August said that the reform will plug revenue leakages, safeguard government income, and foster greater trust and accountability in land-related dealings.

“Applicants will also be provided with a clear checklist of required documents, ensuring accuracy and reducing rejections due to incomplete submissions.”

She had added that the initiative will transform land registration across Haryana into a digitally driven, efficient, and transparent process, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to responsive governance and public-centric reforms.
