HC directs transfer of 27 judicial officers in Haryana

HC directs transfer of 27 judicial officers in Haryana

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered the transfer and posting of 27 judicial officers, with most changes taking immediate effect. The order also includes several elevations from additional district and sessions judges to district and sessions judges.

The notification, dated October 20, covers postings to vacant positions, deputations, and the establishment of new special courts. Notably, new fast-track special courts to try offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act have been created in Panchkula, Faridabad, and Gurgaon, in line with Supreme Court directions issued in a suo motu writ petition on the rising incidence of child sexual offences.

Among the elevations, Anil Kumar Bishnoi continues in Faridabad as district and sessions judge and presiding officer of the industrial tribunal-cum-labour court-I on deputation. Alka Malik moves from Chandigarh (on recall from deputation) to Hisar as district and sessions judge, while Jagjit Singh shifts from Jagadhri to Sonepat in the same capacity.

Ajay Prashar transfers from Bhiwani to Kaithal as a district and sessions judge. Jagdeep Singh moves from Gurgaon (on withdrawal) to Panchkula as district and sessions judge and member secretary, Haryana State Legal Services Authority, on deputation. Gagandeep Kaur Singh continues in Karnal as district and sessions judge and principal judge of the family court.

Sushil Kumar Garg transfers from Karnal (on withdrawal) to Nuh as district and sessions judge. Poonam Suneja moves from Hisar to Jind, and Raj Gupta from Rohtak to Palwal, both as district and sessions judges.

Among other notable transfers, Sudhir Jiwan shifts from Jhajjar (on withdrawal) to Faridabad as an additional district and sessions judge. Vivek Singal remains in Kurukshetra as the additional district and sessions judge and principal judge of the family court, while Salender Singh continues in Rohtak in the Pocso fast-track court.

Hem Raj remains posted in Kurukshetra in a similar role for rape and Pocso cases. Bhawna Jain moves from Kurukshetra to Chandigarh as an additional district and sessions judge and special judge, CBI court, on deputation. Suruchi Atreja Singh continues in Bhiwani in the Pocso fast track court.

Parminder Kaur remains in Hisar as principal judge of the family court. Sanjay Kumar Sharma transfers from Rohtak (on recall from deputation) to Gurgaon for a new Pocso fast-track court, while Manish Dua moves from Chandigarh (on recall from deputation) to Panchkula for another new Pocso court, effective November 3, 2025.

Taranjit Kaur continues in Charkhi Dadri as principal judge of the newly established family court. Amit Sharma remains in Jagadhri as principal judge of the family court, and Hemant Yadav continues in Fatehabad in the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) fast-track court.

Natasha Sharma moves from Fatehabad to Hisar as an additional district and sessions judge. Abhishek Phutela transfers from Palwal (on withdrawal) to Faridabad for a new Pocso court, while Shikha continues in Fatehabad as principal judge of the family court.

Vivek Yadav shifts from Kaithal (on withdrawal) to Rohtak as presiding officer of the industrial tribunal-cum-labour court with additional charge of the labour court in Hisar on deputation. Sampreet Kaur moves from Chandigarh (on recall from deputation) to Ambala as an additional officer. Rajesh Kumar Yadav remains in Faridabad for a new Pocso court.

The order directs all officers, except Manish Dua, to relinquish their current assignments immediately and assume charge of their new posts without delay. District and sessions judges have been instructed to reassign all pending cases involving MPs or MLAs to other competent courts before the next hearing.
