According to trade estimates by Sacnilk, ‘Jana Nayagan’ earned Rs 0.75 crore India net on Day 19, its third Monday, from 1,976 shows. The film recorded around 14.2% occupancy during the day. With this addition, its total India gross collection has reached Rs 224.89 crore, while the India net stands at Rs 193.05 crore. The film also added around Rs 0.05 crore from overseas markets on Day 19, taking its overseas gross to Rs 93.20 crore. Its worldwide gross collection has now reached an impressive Rs 318.09 crore. The numbers show a clear Monday drop after the strong third weekend, but the film continues to add to its total.
‘Jana Nayagan’ leads Suriya’s ‘Karuppu’
The latest numbers also put Jana Nayagan ahead of Suriya’s ‘Karuppu’ in the worldwide box office tally. At the end of Day 19, ‘Karuppu’ grossed Rs 216.10 crore in India. Its overseas collection stood at Rs 0.75 crore, pushing the worldwide gross to Rs 295.35 crore. In comparison, Jana Nayagan has reached Rs 318.09 crore worldwide, giving Vijay’s film a lead of more than Rs 22 crore. ‘Jana Nayagan’ also has a higher India net at Rs 193.05 crore, compared with Karuppu’s Rs 186.90 crore, keeping the Vijay starrer ahead on both key box office fronts after 19 days.
