JAIPUR: Three people were killed after an under-construction retaining wall collapsed in the Tala Mod area of Chandwaji, on the outskirts of Jaipur, on Monday, police said.Several labourers were trapped under the debris after the wall gave way, triggering a major rescue operation. The injured were pulled out and rushed to a nearby hospital.Confirming the incident, Jaipur Rural Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Hanuman Prasad Meena said, “Three people have died after a wall collapsed in the Chandwaji area’s Tala Mod. The injured have been shifted to the hospital.”Rescue teams, police and local authorities rushed to the site soon after the collapse and launched efforts to clear the debris. The exact cause of the collapse is yet to be ascertained.The incident comes weeks after another fatal accident in Jaipur, where at least three people were killed and several others were injured in a fire at an alleged illegal firecracker manufacturing unit operating from a house in the Kho Nagoriyan area.(With ANI inputs)
