A DAY after online satirical platform Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) staged its first major ground demonstration in Delhi, the youth pressure group’s founder Abhijeet Dipke on Sunday announced that it would mobilise support across the country before returning to the Capital for its “next big protest”.
Dipke, who reiterated a seven-day “ultimatum” for the removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in national examinations earlier in the day, said the CJP would “expand” the movement through protests across India if the minister did not resign by next Saturday.

“I just want to say that yesterday was a trailer; over the coming days, we will expand this through protests across different locations in the country… Dharmendra Pradhan ji, there is still time, resign; you have spoilt the future, lives of more than 1 crore students,” Dipke, who left Delhi for his residence in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar after Saturday’s protest, said on Instagram live Sunday evening.
Yesterday, thousands of us made history. Our peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar showed the government a trailer of what cockroaches are capable of when we unite.

“We expect you to resign by Saturday; if you don’t resign, we will be forced to take this movement to different locations in the country and its streets,” he said.
Thanking supporters for gathering at Jantar Mantar on Saturday despite the summer heat, Dipke, who flew back to India just minutes before the protest began, warned of a wave of peaceful demonstrations if Pradhan did not resign.
Earlier in the day, Dipke said in a post on X: “Yesterday, thousands of us made history. Our peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar showed the government a trailer of what cockroaches are capable of when we unite.”
“Most people who joined us yesterday had never participated in a protest before. But they felt emboldened by our collective presence to express their sheer anger and frustration at the education system. Change cannot happen if we don’t make our voices heard,” he said.
