The company also launched new sharing and publishing capabilities through PDF Spaces, an AI-powered workspace that turns static documents into interactive experiences with customised AI assistants. JioHotstar and Swiggy bring in-app food ordering to live cricket streaming

JioHotstar has partnered with Swiggy to introduce a new in-app food ordering feature integrated directly into live sports streaming. The feature, currently available across more than 690 Indian cities, allows users to order food without leaving the live match stream.

The companies say over 37 million users have already tried the feature during the ongoing cricket season. Viewers can browse restaurants, unlock match-specific offers, place orders, and track deliveries within the JioHotstar app itself.

The integration is designed specifically for mobile users and combines live sports with real-time commerce. According to the companies, burgers have emerged as the most-ordered match-time food item, overtaking biryani, while some users placed multiple orders during a single season. One transaction reportedly included over 100 burgers in a single order.

Swiggy said the collaboration builds on the growing habit of ordering food while watching live sports, making the process more seamless and contextual for viewers.

WhatsApp Business Gets AI-Powered Customer Support

WhatsApp has launched ‘Business AI’ in India, allowing small businesses to use AI-powered customer support directly within the WhatsApp Business app. Available in all Indian languages, the feature helps businesses respond to customer queries 24/7, recommend products, book appointments, capture leads, and boost sales without requiring extra software or platforms.

The AI tool can be customised using a business’s own catalogues and information to answer questions about products, pricing, shipping, and discounts. WhatsApp also plans to add UPI payment support directly within chats soon. Business owners can step in manually whenever needed.

According to a 2025 Kantar study, 91% of online adults in India interact with businesses through messaging every week, highlighting the growing importance of chat-based commerce. Meta says the new AI feature is designed to help small businesses manage high volumes of customer queries more efficiently.
