State-owned Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) acquired more than 1.71 crore shares in Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories

State-owned Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) acquired more than 1.71 crore shares in Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories since June taking its stake in the generic drugmaker to more than 10%.

One of the largest institutional investors in the country, LIC raised its holding in from 8.21% in early June to 10.26% as on October 15, a filing by Dr. Reddy’s on Thursday showed. LIC acquired 17140819 shares translating into an additional 2% stake through market purchase.

Dr. Reddy’s shares closed with a less than 1% gain at Rs.1,240.05 apiece on the BSE. In June, LIC stake in Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories had raced past the 8% mark when it acquired an additional, more than 2% in the drugmaker since October 2024.
